SIM 2100 Level Control – Combined

SIM 2100 Level Control – Combined

Sim 2100 Level Control model shows a series of nine vertical open top vessels being fed with a supply of water. The water exits each vessel through a single line with a valve controlling the flow.

With this in mind, the aim of the simulation is to introduce trainees to mass balance and process control.

About the Sim

Model Description

SIM 2100 Level Control – Combined, shows the level of water in each vessel is controlled by a range of 9 different control methods allowing training on all the different ways of controlling a process variable. Each method of control can be looked at individually or compared with any other to show the benefits of its use. The control methods used are;

  • Feed Back Control
  • Cascade Control
  • Gap Control
  • Feed Forward Control
  • Feed Forward and Feed Back Control
  • Ratio Control
  • Ratio and Cascade Control
  • Selective Control
  • Split Range Control.

The P&ID settings of the controller can be altered to improve the tuning of the controller for the various conditions that can be created.

Our simulation includes exercise’s based around the tuning of the level control system.
