Supporting the Next Generation of Energy Professionals at Guyana Technical Training College.
We were proud to be returning to Guyana this February to celebrate the official opening of a major training facility supported by TSC, with our CEO, Andrew Bolton, attending the launch in person.
Andrew was representing TSC at the opening of the Guyana Technical Training College Inc facility with our partners LearnCorp International, a project we have been closely involved with from an early stage. The opening on 14 February is a significant milestone and was attended by His Excellency President Irfaan Ali, underlining the importance of technical training and skills development to Guyana’s future.
Delivering Real-World Training Through Dynamic Simulation
As part of this project, TSC has supplied and installed a comprehensive classroom suite of dynamic process simulations, designed to give students hands-on, practical experience using industry-standard tools.
The installation includes:
- 16-user classroom simulation capability, set up on local hardware supplied by the client
- A full suite of workbooks and structured exercises, supporting both teaching and self-guided learning
- Ten generic process simulation models, ranging from basic process control simulations through to advanced 5000-series models
- A bespoke FPSO simulation, adapted from our offshore platform SIM 5100 model to more closely reflect real offshore operations on a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading vessel.
The FPSO model has been customised with oil and produced water storage and offloading systems and a customised fire and gas system, helping students understand the operational and safety considerations of a floating offshore production vessel in a highly realistic environment.
Immersive Learning With 3D Interactive Virtual Plant Technology
In addition to the classroom simulations, the project also includes a dedicated PC running TSC’s 3D Interactive Virtual Plant (IVP) technology.
This allows learners to:
- Walk around a fully interactive 3D process plant
- Visualise equipment layout and plant operation in a spatial, immersive way
- Connect process behaviour in the simulator with physical plant design and operation
- Practice communication protocols between control room operators and field technicians
- Practice fault-finding and root-cause analysis scenarios
By combining dynamic simulation with 3D visualisation, the facility offers a powerful blended learning experience that mirrors how operators are trained in real industrial environments.
Onsite Delivery and Ongoing Commitment
The system was installed locally by TSC engineers, ensuring everything was configured, tested, and ready for use on site. Members of our team, including Luke Johnson and Sam Jago, visited Guyana in October 2025 as part of the delivery and installation phase, working closely with local stakeholders to bring the project to life.
Andrew’s visit for the official opening reflects TSC’s ongoing commitment, not just to technology delivery, but to building long-term partnerships that support skills development, safety, and operational excellence.
Looking Ahead
With Guyana’s energy sector continuing to grow, facilities like GTTCI play a vital role in preparing the next generation of engineers, technicians, and operators. We’re honoured to have contributed to a project that will have a lasting impact on education and workforce development in the region.
