Process Simulation Training | Classroom to Control Room
How do you give someone meaningful experience of operating process equipment without putting them in control of the real plant?
Dynamic process simulation provides a safe and practical way to bridge that gap.
TSC’s training simulations range from introductory process control and individual unit operations through to complete plant systems and immersive Virtual Control Room environments.
Start with the fundamentals
Individual simulations allow learners to understand how common process equipment and control systems behave.
Rather than simply learning the theory behind a pump, vessel, heat exchanger or control loop, users can interact with the process and immediately see the effect of their actions.
Simulation can then introduce increasingly complex processes including separation, gas treatment, compression and distillation.
Each TSC simulation model comes with a set of learning objectives and interactive learning materials, helping students develop and demonstrate the required knowledge and skills.
Progress to complete plant operation
As experience develops, trainees can move on to complete process systems.
They can practise activities such as start-up and shutdown, respond to alarms, investigate changing process conditions and learn how actions in one part of the plant affect another.
Importantly, this can all take place without affecting production, equipment or safety.
Bring the team together
TSC’s Virtual Control Room takes simulation-based training one stage further.
Groups of trainees can operate a complete simulated process together in an environment designed to reproduce the communication, teamwork and decision-making required during real operations.
Instructors can also introduce faults and changing process conditions, creating realistic scenarios that trainees must recognise and manage.
From understanding the fundamentals to operating a complete process, simulation provides a way to build knowledge, experience and confidence before those skills are required on the real plant.
